Football Game Recap: Gilbert vs. Williams Field

After a dominant win in their contest last Friday, Gilbert were humbled on Friday. Gilbert didn't finish too far behind, but the squad still lost 14-20 to Williams Field.

Gilbert's loss came about despite a quality game from junior Will Plummer, who picked up 69 yards on the ground and accumulated 202 passing yards. They also supplied one of the game's most exciting moments in the form of senior Connor McKernan and his 60-yard punt return for touchdown in fourth quarter.

The defeat dropped Gilbert's record to 4-3. The victory bumped Williams Field's record up to 6-1.

Next week Gilbert take on Casteel at 7:00 PM. Williams Field will look to defend their home turf against Maricopa at 7:00 PM. Maricopa took a loss in their last match and are no doubt out to reverse Williams Field's good fortune.
