Basketball Game Preview: Neches Tigers vs. Grapeland Sandies

The Neches Tigers are taking a road trip to face off against the Grapeland Sandies at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

It was a proper cat-fight when Neches challenged Rains on Friday. Neches took a 52-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of Rains. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 309th, while the Wildcats are ranked 74th).

Meanwhile, Grapeland got the win against Groveton last Friday by a conclusive 48-22. The Sandies have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 21 points or more this season.

Grapeland is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.8 points per game. As for Neches, their loss dropped their record down to 6-5.
