Basketball Game Preview: Azle Hornets vs. Saginaw Rough Riders

The Azle Hornets will take on the Saginaw Rough Riders in a holiday battle at at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Azle lost 63-38 to Fossil Ridge on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Hornets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 979th, while the Panthers are ranked 50th).

Meanwhile, Saginaw entered their match against Granbury on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Saginaw took a 35-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of Granbury.

Azle has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season. As for Saginaw, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-7.

Azle didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Saginaw in their previous meeting back in January, but they still walked away with a 42-38 victory. Does Azle have another victory up their sleeve, or will Saginaw turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
