Preview: Mason Bulldogs vs. Holt Rams
Mason has enjoyed a six-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Holt Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Mason's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four games.
Last Friday, Mason beat Williamston 66-54. Given Mason's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 64th, while Williamston is ranked 222nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Holt's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 73-41 loss at the hands of East Lansing. Holt was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 48-18.
Mason's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-2. As for Holt, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-8.
Mason couldn't quite finish off Holt in their previous meeting back in March of 2023 and fell 63-61. Can Mason avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
