Baseball Recap: Central Takes a Loss

Central extended their losing streak to five on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 2-7 in the process. They fell 5-2 to the Hillsboro Hawks. If the Rebels were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Hawks when the teams met back in May of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Hillsboro, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-10. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games.

For Hillsboro's part, the team relied heavily on Aidan Roland, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three RBI. That's the most RBI Roland has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Max Partney, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hillsboro, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Notre Dame at 4:30 p.m.
