Basketball Game Preview: Immokalee Indians vs. Lely Trojans

Immokalee is 1-9 against Lely since December of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Immokalee Indians will take on the Lely Trojans at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Immokalee is headed into Thursday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 13th straight game dating back to last season on Tuesday. They were beaten by Aubrey Rogers 77-13. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 611th, while the Patriots are ranked 91st).

Immokalee's defeat came about despite a quality game from Brianna Muhammad, who posted nine points. That was a full 69.2% of Immokalee's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Meanwhile, Lely was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 39-35 to Palmetto Ridge. The Trojans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Immokalee will have to contain Fara Louissaint as she made an impact in Lely's last game. She went 8 of 13 on her way to 18 points and eight boards. Abigael Francois was another key player, putting up six points and five rebounds.

Even though they lost, Lely smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Palmetto Ridge only pulled down seven offensive boards.

Immokalee's record now sits at 0-12. As for Lely, their record now sits at 8-10.

Immokalee took a serious blow against Lely in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, falling 60-15. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Louissaint, who went 7 for 8 en route to 17 points and four steals.
