Everything went their way against the Freedom Area Bulldogs on Friday as they made off with a 24-3 win. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by ten runs or more this season.
Dixie Wall was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs, five RBI, and one double. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high.
New Brighton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .741. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive contests.
New Brighton's victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-7. As for Freedom Area, they are on a 17-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-13.
Looking ahead, New Brighton will be playing at home against Shenango at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Freedom Area, they will challenge Aliquippa at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
