Baseball Recap: Kennedy Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Kennedy extended their winning streak to four on Wednesday, bumping their season record up to 9-8 in the process. They came out on top against the Lincoln Lancers by a score of 7-4. This was a revenge game for the Commanders: when they faced off against the Lancers last Tuesday, they had to take a 2-1 loss.

Eric Valenzuela made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up four earned runs off seven hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

In other batting news, Dylan Nielsen was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Damian Ortiz was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

As for Lincoln, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 7-1 and their overall record down to 12-6. Their loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

On Lincoln's side, they saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Byron Leyva, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI. Another was Carlos Gonzales, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
