Baseball Game Preview: MacArthur Brahmas vs. Sinton Pirates

The MacArthur Brahmas will face off against the Sinton Pirates at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as MacArthur comes in on three and Sinton on five.

While MacArthur's win against South San Antonio wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. MacArthur had just enough and edged out South San Antonio 3-2 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Brahmas have posted since April 13, 2024.

MacArthur's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Ivan Castillo, who scored a run while going 1-for-1. Cohen Mayfield also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Meanwhile, Sinton won against Cornerstone Christian on Tuesday with ten runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. Sinton didn't even let Ingleside on the board, marking Sinton's second-straight 10-0 shutout.

Sinton let Dylan Arriaga and Julian Suarez run wild. Arriaga scored two runs while going 3-for-3, while Suarez scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Those two runs gave Arriaga a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Clay Mitchell, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Sinton kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.6 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matches they've averaged 9.4.

Sinton's victory bumped their record up to 10-5-1. As for MacArthur, their win bumped their record up to 9-5.
