Softball Preview: Berne Union Rockets vs. Nelsonville-York Buckeyes

The Berne Union Rockets will square off against the Nelsonville-York Buckeyes at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Berne Union is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season.

Berne Union not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since April 30, 2024. They blew past Bexley 15-5. The Rockets haven't had any issues with the Lions recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Josilyn Hedges made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched six innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits. What's more, she posted two strikeouts, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-5. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season.

Berne Union's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Nelsonville-York, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
