Volleyball Recap: Summit Takes a Loss

If Summit was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Colony on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The SkyHawks fell just short of the Corona Panthers by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The SkyHawks have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Summit came incredibly close to winning: the sets they lost were decided by three points or less. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 11-25, 25-22, 24-26, 17-15.

Tylia Hemmans paced Summit's offense, picking up 22 kills. Hemmans got some help from Alexandra Bradley and her 40 assists. Bradley was also solid from the service line: she led the team with eight aces.

Summit's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Corona, their win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-1.

Looking ahead, Summit will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Apple Valley at 6:30 p.m. As for Corona, they will host Patriot at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
