Recap: Cambridge Academy Cougars vs. Oconee Christian Academy Warriors
Even though the Oconee Christian Academy Warriors scored an imposing 61 points on Monday, the Cambridge Academy Cougars still came out on top. Cambridge Academy took their matchup against Oconee Christian Academy 74-61. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Cambridge Academy also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2023.
Cambridge Academy was led to victory by Maddox Lee and Andrew Wiley. Lee shot 6-for-11 from downtown and almost dropped a double-double on 24 points and nine assists, while Wiley dropped a double-double on 33 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Harvley, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
Oconee Christian Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Daniel Frick, who scored 23 points along with six assists. That was a full 37.7% of Oconee Christian Academy's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Carson Duncan, who scored 15 points along with two steals.
Cambridge Academy's victory bumped their record up to 10-13. As for Oconee Christian Academy, they now have a losing record at 10-11.
Cambridge Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Wardlaw Academy at 8:00 p.m. on February 6th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in South Carolina (Cambridge Academy is ranked 278th, while Wardlaw Academy is ranked 262nd). Oconee Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
