Baseball Recap: Independence Comes Up Short

Independence and Choctaw County squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Independence had to settle for second. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 12-1 to the Chargers, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with the Chargers recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Independence's defeat dropped their record down to 18-12. As for Choctaw County, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 21-7.

While Independence had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
