Football Recap: East Valley Red Devils vs. Burlington-Edison Tigers
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only East Valley walked away with it. They took their contest on Saturday with ease, bagging a 56-22 victory over the Burlington-Edison Tigers. 56 seems to be a good number for the Red Devils as the team scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
East Valley's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cody Gasseling, who rushed for 153 yards and two touchdowns, and also picked up 77 receiving yards and one TD. That's the most rushing yards Gasseling has posted since back in October of 2024. Another receiver making a difference was Greyson Stevens, who picked up 193 receiving yards and four scores.
East Valley didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Stevens and Dominic Verduzco. Stevens has been hot recently, having posted two or more receiving touchdowns the last four times he's played.

The win keeps East Valley at an undefeated 11-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 7.6 points on average this season. As for Burlington-Edison, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season.
East Valley will challenge Lynden on Friday. Burlington-Edison does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
