Softball Recap: Dr. Phillips Wins Going Away Against Lake Buena Vista

Dr. Phillips's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They blew past the Lake Buena Vista Vipers 16-1. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by eight runs or more this season.

Samantha Rome was a standout: she scored three runs while going 2-for-2. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (two). Briana Lohr was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2.

Dr. Phillips' win bumped their record up to 10-5. As for Lake Buena Vista, they dropped their record down to 8-9 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, Dr. Phillips will be playing at home against Wekiva at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Mustangs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.08 runs per game on average), something the Panthers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Lake Buena Vista, they will head out to challenge Apopka at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
