Basketball Recap: Lourdes Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Lourdes, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Monday. They enjoyed a cozy 67-52 victory over the Zumbrota-Mazeppa Cougars on Friday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 68-50 back in December of 2024.

Lourdes' win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-11. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.3 points over those games. As for Zumbrota-Mazeppa, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-14.

Coming up, Lourdes won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Cotter at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Lourdes knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Cotter likes a good challenge. Zumbrota-Mazeppa does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
