Baseball Recap: Maynard Finds Home Field Redemption Against Assabet Valley RVT

There's no place like home for Maynard, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Assabet Valley RVT Aztecs on Friday by a score of 3-2 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). The win was a breath of fresh air for the Tigers as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Will Buchholz spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on two hits and racked up 11 Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Alex Derobert was excellent, going 1-for-2 with three stolen bases and one run. Thomas Lawton was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Maynard's victory bumped their record up to 12-6. As for Assabet Valley RVT, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-16.

Coming up, Maynard will head out on the road to square off against Murdock at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Tigers are facing the Blue Devils at the right time seeing as the Blue Devils are stuck on a 17-game losing streak. Assabet Valley RVT does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
