After a string of 12 wins, Waterloo's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 58-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Athens Bible Trojans. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 44-38 back in December of 2024.

Waterloo's loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 18-4. As for Athens Bible, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Waterloo won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Johnson at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Athens Bible, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Woodville at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
