Basketball Recap: Space Coast Vipers vs. West Shore Wildcats
Space Coast was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were outmatched by the West Shore Wildcats and fell 74-34. The Vipers lost against the Wildcats in their previous head to head back in February of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 50-42 score last time.
West Shore was led to victory by Beau Couture and Christian Rebec. Couture went 8 of 12 en route to 21 points and five steals, while Rebec went 8 for 11 on his way to 19 points and five steals. Rebec is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Marana, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten boards.
Space Coast's loss dropped their record down to 3-18. As for West Shore, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 7-9 record.
Space Coast and Brevard Christian will face off at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest having both just played. Brevard Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.5 points per game this season. As for West Shore, they will challenge Odyssey Charter School at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
