Sparta piles up the points against Mountain Grove

The Sparta Trojans won the last time they faced the Mountain Grove Panthers, and things went their way on Thursday too. Sparta claimed a resounding 63-30 victory over Mountain Grove on the road. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Sparta.

Jacob Lafferty had a dynamite game for Sparta, dropping a double-double on 25 points and 16 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Lafferty has scored at least 25% of Sparta's points. Walker Loveland was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with 5 assists and 4 steals.

Sparta's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Mountain Grove, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sparta will take on Strafford on Saturday. As for Mountain Grove, they will head out on the road to face off against Hartville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
