Baseball Game Preview: Escalon Cougars vs. Bear Creek Bruins

The Escalon Cougars will venture away from home to take on the Bear Creek Bruins at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Friday, Escalon earned a 4-1 victory over Ripon Christian. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cougars.

Josh Fiori made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Escalon is undefeated when Fiori allows three or fewer hits, but 5-6 otherwise. Fiori was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Fiori wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Brody Abbott, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, it may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Bear Creek ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They came out on top against Weston Ranch by a score of 12-9. The win was nothing new for the Bruins as they're now sitting on three straight.

Escalon's record now sits at 10-6. As for Bear Creek, their record is now 8-9.
