Volleyball Recap: Santana Comes Up Short

Santana was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the El Cajon Valley Braves, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Braves this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in March.

While Santana was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-16, 25-23.

Riley Hoagland paced Santana's offense, picking up 14 kills. Hoagland got some help from Caleb Miller and his 28 assists.

The loss was their first at home , dropping their record down to 6-10. As for El Cajon Valley, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 24-3.

Santana has already played their next contest (against Steele Canyon), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for El Cajon Valley, they will face off against Clairemont at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
