Baseball Recap: Gardner-South Wilmington's Luck Changes for the Better on Tuesday

Gardner-South Wilmington's game two weeks ago was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They walked away with a 10-5 victory over the Momence Momence Athletics. The win was some much needed relief for the Panthers as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Reed Millette made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up four earned runs off only two hits. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Logan Conger was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with five RBI. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Aiden Mack also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Gardner-South Wilmington picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 2-4. As for Momence, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.

Gardner-South Wilmington will head out on the road to square off against Wilmington at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Momence, they will face off against Grant Park at 4:30 p.m. on the 17th.
