Softball Recap: South Granville Vikings vs. High Point Christian Academy Cougars
South Granville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 8-3 to the High Point Christian Academy Cougars.
Ayden Koonce was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Madeline Wilkins, who went 2-for-4 with a stolen base and an RBI.
On High Point Christian Academy's side, Laci Jarrell was excellent, scoring a run while going 1-for-2. Landyn Smith was another key contributor, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.
South Granville's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for High Point Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 10-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South Granville will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off.
