Basketball Game Preview: Southwest Guilford Cowboys vs. Page Pirates

Southwest Guilford and Page are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2017, but not for long. Both will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. One thing working in Southwest Guilford's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 13 contests.

Southwest Guilford is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Grimsley just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Whirlies by a score of 68-66. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Cowboys have suffered since February 27, 2024.

Meanwhile, Page ended up a good deal behind Northern Guilford on Thursday and lost 63-49.

Southwest Guilford's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-5. As for Page, they now have a losing record at 8-9.

Southwest Guilford took their victory against Page in their previous meeting back in December of 2024 by a conclusive 71-48. The rematch might be a little tougher for Southwest Guilford since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
