Volleyball Recap: Abingdon/Avon Comes Up Short

Abingdon/Avon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the ROWVA/Williamsfield Cougars. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 on Monday.

Abingdon/Avon's offense was headlined by Player #3 and Charly Cox, who picked up three kills apiece. They got some help from Vivian Bigger and her ten assists.

Abingdon/Avon's loss dropped their record down to 2-26. As for ROWVA/Williamsfield, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-6 record this season.

Abingdon/Avon has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Bushnell-Prairie City on the 18th. As for ROWVA/Williamsfield, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Hamilton/Warsaw on the 18th.
