Softball Recap: Pine Island's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Randolph, Pine Island was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They walked away with an 8-5 win over the Goodhue Wildcats. The victory was some much needed relief for the Panthers as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

The team relied heavily on Peyton Barnett, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two RBI, one run, and one double. She also put up a hit, which was her first of the season.

Pine Island was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. The last time their batting average was this high was was before the start of last season.

Pine Island's record now sits at 5-9. As for Goodhue, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-8.

Coming up, Pine Island will square off against Cannon Falls at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Goodhue, they will welcome Blooming Prairie at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
