18 must be Northern Cambria's lucky number: they beat Blacklick Valley with that score not once but twice on Friday. The Colts beat the Vikings by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 18-8. The result was nothing new for the Colts, who have now won six matches by ten runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Megan Lubert, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April. Braelyn Pattison was another key player, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Northern Cambria kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Blacklick Valley only managed six hits.

The win made it two in a row for Northern Cambria and bumps their season record up to 8-11. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.0 runs over those games. As for Blacklick Valley, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-15.

Northern Cambria wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 7-5 defeat against Moshannon Valley on the 12th. Blacklick Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
