Baseball Recap: Kerens Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Kerens had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They skirted past the Beckville Bearcats 3-1. The win was nothing new for the Bobcats as they're now sitting on three straight.

Krayton Ritchie spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up ten Ks. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Kerens saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lionel Escobedo, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double. Andy Conklin was another, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Kerens' victory bumped their record up to 20-3. As for Beckville, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 15-6.

Kerens will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Bearcats: the pair will be back at it again later today.
