Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Cloverleaf). They breezed past the Coventry Comets to the tune of 74-33 on Friday. With that victory, the Colts brought their scoring average up to 53.4 points per game.
Makinsey Bayer had another great game (as she tends to do), going 8-for-11 on her way to 25 points in addition to eight rebounds and five steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed four or more in each of the last three games she's played. Madi Young also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.
Cloverleaf was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Coventry only racked up six.
Despite the loss, Coventry still got an impressive performance from Kayla Munn, who posted 14 points and seven boards. That was a full 42.4% of the Comets' points, marking the third time in a row Munn has had more than a third of the team's points. Scarlet Dimeff was another key player, putting up seven points and six rebounds.
The win keeps Cloverleaf at an undefeated 5-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 66.2 points this season. As for Coventry, they now have a losing record of 1-2.
