Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for West Fork

West Fork had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Splendora Wildcats 5-3. This was a revenge game for the Gators: when they faced off against the Wildcats back in March, they had to take a 6-3 loss.

Itzel Molina tossed a big game, tossing six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits.

On the hitting side, Elysia Gonzalez was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one triple and one run. Another player making a difference was Ryelee Carmona, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run and one RBI.

West Fork's record now sits at 18-8. As for Splendora, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-11.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. West Fork will take on rival Kingwood Park at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Splendora is set to challenge their familiar foe Dayton at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
