Softball Recap: Elmira Has No Trouble Against Southern Cayuga

Elmira got themselves on the board against Southern Cayuga on Thursday, but Southern Cayuga never followed suit. They blew past the Chiefs 14-0. Considering the Express have won six matches by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Madison Smith was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Taft, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.

The victory got Elmira back to even at 6-6. As for Southern Cayuga, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-7.

Coming up, Elmira will face off against Varsity Opponent at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Southern Cayuga has already played their next game (against Southside), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
