Tom Bean has gone 8-2 against Trenton recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Tomcats will look to defend their home field against the Tigers at 6:30 p.m. Tom Bean is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9 runs per game this season.
Tom Bean's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. Everything went their way against Ector as they made off with a 16-0 win. The Tomcats haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Keaton Reed and Reid Sharp made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Reed tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Meanwhile, Sharp tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. At the plate, Reed scored a run while going 3-for-3, while Sharp scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.
In other batting news, Hagen Darney was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Chase Stratton, who scored four runs and stole two bases.
Tom Bean was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .462. They are a perfect 11-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Trenton's offense. They lost 14-0 to Collinsville on Tuesday. The Tigers haven't had much luck with the Pirates recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.
Tom Bean's win bumped their record up to 14-7. As for Trenton, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-11.
Trenton's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Tom Bean has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .498. It's a different story for Trenton, though, as they've only averaged .358. Will they be able to contain Tom Bean's hitters?
