Baseball Game Preview: Out-of-Door Academy Thunder vs. Southwest Florida Christian King's

The Out-of-Door Academy Thunder will take on the Southwest Florida Christian King at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.

If Out-of-Door Academy beats Southwest Florida Christian with seven runs on Friday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. The Thunder were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over Mariner on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Thunder.

Meanwhile, Southwest Florida Christian waltzed into their contest on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. Everything went their way against the Trojans as they made off with a 10-1 victory.

Romie Afanador looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Ian Long and Lawson Polhill did most of the damage at the plate: Long went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one double, while Polhill scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Those three stolen bases gave Polhill a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Reed Guess, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Southwest Florida Christian's win bumped their record up to 11-7. As for Out-of-Door Academy, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 11-7.

Out-of-Door Academy came out on top in a nail-biter against Southwest Florida Christian when the teams last played back in May of 2019, sneaking past 4-3. Do the Thunder have another victory up their sleeve, or will the King's turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
