Basketball Game Preview: Natomas Nighthawks vs. Woodland Wolves

The Natomas Nighthawks will square off against the Woodland Wolves at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Natomas knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven games -- so hopefully Woodland likes a good challenge.

Last Saturday, Natomas beat Grant 63-53.

Manno Jenkins continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 28 points and 11 rebounds. The contest was his fourth in a row with at least ten points. Alfred Wilkins was another key player, putting up 16 points and five steals.

Natomas smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in seven consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Woodland played a tough game on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt an 81-54 defeat at the hands of Casa Roble. The Wolves have struggled against the Rams recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Natomas is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.1 points per game. As for Woodland, their loss dropped their record down to 4-9.

Everything came up roses for Natomas against Woodland in their previous matchup back in November of 2022, as the team secured a 70-32 win. In that match, Natomas amassed a halftime lead of 42-12, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
