Soccer Game Preview: Mabank vs. Sunnyvale

Mabank is 0-8 against Sunnyvale since January of 2021 but things could change on Saturday. The Mabank Panthers are taking a road trip to face off against Sunnyvale at 11:30 a.m.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Mabank's offense. They lost 8-0 to Community on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 743rd, while the Braves are ranked 156th).

Meanwhile, Sunnyvale entered their tilt with Kemp on Wednesday with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. They were the clear victor by a 4-1 margin over the Yellowjackets. Sunnyvale might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by three goals or more this season.

They hit Kemp with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Tristan Campos (2), Aiden Lerma, and Devin Vasquez.

This is the second loss in a row for Mabank and nudges their season record down to 0-6-1. As for Sunnyvale, their win bumped their record up to 8-3.

Mabank might still be hurting after the 8-3 loss they got from Sunnyvale when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Can Mabank avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
