Baseball Game Preview: Clayton Valley Charter Ugly Eagles vs. Benicia Panthers

For the second straight game, Clayton Valley Charter will face off against Benicia. The Ugly Eagles will look to defend their home field on Thursday against the Panthers at 4:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Clayton Valley Charter 2.1, Benicia 3.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Clayton Valley Charter is returning to their home field after beating Benicia on theirs, despite the fact Benicia has dominated at home this season. The Ugly Eagles came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 6-2 on Tuesday.

For Benicia's part, they got a good showing from Brice Brunson, who tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Brunson has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Benicia saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Myles Cooper, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Clayton Valley Charter's win bumped their record up to 15-4. As for Benicia, their loss ended a ten-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 13-5.
