Basketball Recap: Anthony Ruvalcaba Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Eastbrook Academy

St. Anthony won the last time they faced Eastbrook Academy and things went their way on Thursday too. Everything went the St. Anthony Roman Legion's way against Eastbrook Academy as the St. Anthony Roman Legion made off with a 62-38 victory.

St. Anthony's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Anthony Ruvalcaba led the charge by dropping a triple-double on 14 points, 16 boards, and ten assists. Ruvalcaba is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. Josh Morales was another key player, putting up 12 points along with eight assists and five rebounds.

Ruvalcaba wasn't the only one working in the assists department: St. Anthony was working as a unit and finished the game with 28 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in November of 2024.

St. Anthony's win bumped their record up to 7-11. As for Eastbrook Academy, they are on a 17-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-16.

St. Anthony will head out to face off against Chesterton Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Eastbrook Academy has already played their next matchup (against Tenor), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
