Volleyball Recap: Wawasee Takes a Loss

Wawasee lost against Mishawaka back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Warriors lost 3-0 to the Cavemen. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Wawasee took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-8, 25-14, 25-17.

Zaiyla Shortill paced Wawasee's offense, picking up four kills. Shortill got some help from Hadley Allen and her seven assists. Allen was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Wawasee's loss dropped their record down to 4-22. As for Mishawaka, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 19-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matches. Wawasee will head out to challenge Culver Academies at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Mishawaka, they will venture away from home to square off against Niles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
