Softball Recap: Mt. Carmel Sundevils vs. Fallbrook Warriors

Mt. Carmel fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Fallbrook on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Fallbrook Warriors by a score of 5-4. Mt. Carmel was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Fallbrook apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2022.

Maddy Heikkila made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Clara Carter, who went 2-for-4 with a triple.

On Fallbrook's side, Hana Winton was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up four earned runs off six hits.
