While Porterville's victory against Strathmore wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Panthers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-7 win over the Spartans on Thursday. The victory continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now won seven in a row.

The win got Porterville back to even at 6-6-1. As for Strathmore, their loss ended a nine-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 14-4.

Coming up, Porterville will head out to face off against Golden West at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Strathmore, they will challenge Woodlake at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Spartans 2.8, the Tigers 1.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
