Baseball Game Preview: Norwood Pirates vs. Ava Bears

The Norwood Pirates will head out on the road to take on the Ava Bears at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Norwood's pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so Ava's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Norwood fell victim to Van Buren and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They lost 14-0 to the Bulldogs. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Pirates' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Meanwhile, Ava didn't have quite enough to beat Central on Monday and fell 2-1.

Norwood's defeat dropped their record down to 13-6. As for Ava, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-9 record this season.

Norwood couldn't quite get it done against Ava when the teams last played back in May of 2024 as they fell 5-0. Can the Pirates avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
