Basketball Recap: Kern Valley Takes a Loss

On Monday, the Kern Valley Broncs were beaten by the Templeton Eagles 55-28. While losing is never fun, the Broncs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1104th, while the Eagles are ranked 483rd).

Kern Valley lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Aiden Madden, who posted nine points. Another player making a difference was Joey Galvan, who had five points in addition to six boards and five steals.

Kern Valley has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season. As for Templeton, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 10-6.

Kern Valley will square off against Desert at 6:00 p.m. on January 7th. As for Templeton, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 56-44 win against Coastal Christian on the 2nd.
