Linton-Stockton is a perfect 3-0 against Greencastle since October of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Miners will head out to challenge the Tiger Cubs at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Linton-Stockton is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 69-12 victory over Mitchell. Given the Miners' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana football rankings (they are ranked 90th, while the Bluejackets are ranked 299th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Greencastle). They really took it to Brown County for the full four quarters, racking up a 63-14 win. The Tiger Cubs haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.
Greencastle's win came from a few key players Linton-Stockton will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Cole Stephens, who threw for 390 yards and seven TDs while completing 85.7% of his passes, and also rushed for 31 yards and one touchdown. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in passer rating (165.2). Trevin Long also helped out as he racked up 127 receiving yards.
Greencastle didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Brown County to a completion percentage of just 31.8%. The team can thank Long for the heroic effort on defense: he. Greencastle is 2-1 when they limit the passing game like that.
Greencastle's defense didn't let Quentin Bell, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for five sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as five different players picked up one apiece. Another thorn in Brown County's side was Parker Welker, who picked up a sack and made 15 total tackles (3.0 for loss).
The win got Greencastle back to even at 5-5. As for Linton-Stockton, their record now sits at 7-3.
