Baseball Recap: Centauri Takes a Loss

Pagosa Springs hit Centauri with a four-run fifth inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Falcons fell just short of the Pirates by a score of 6-5. The Falcons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Pirates apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2025.

Leland Chacon made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run. Kendrick Martin was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

Centauri has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-6 record this season. As for Pagosa Springs, the victory snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 9-7 record.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Pirates beat Centauri by a score of 17-11 later that day.
