Softball Recap: Bridgeport Comes Up Short

Bridgeport extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to ten on Thursday, dropping them down to 0-8. They lost 18-3 to the Liberty Bell Mountain Lions. If the Mustangs & Fillies were looking for revenge after losing 18-3 to the Mountain Lions when the teams met back in April of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Liberty Bell's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-4. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For Liberty Bell's part, Karlie Treise was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits. Treise was even better at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and two doubles. She also snagged a stolen base, marking her first of the season.

In other batting news, Liberty Bell let Karson McMillan and Pepper Treise run wild. McMillan went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs, while Treise went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. McMillan also brought in three RBI, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Ava Schade, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Liberty Bell beat Bridgeport by a score of 29-13 later that day.
