Basketball Recap: Spencer Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Spencer had lost three straight headed into Friday's game, but Autumn Davis didn't let it get to four. The Spencer Rockets narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Cadott Hornets 57-54 thanks in part to Davis, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and ten boards. That makes it eight consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Spencer's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Nieman, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 boards. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in rebounds.

Cadott lost on Friday despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Taylor Hager, who posted 21 points and six steals. Another player making a difference was Kasey Moldrem, who earned 12 points.

Spencer's victory bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Cadott, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-5.

Spencer will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Gilman at 7:15 p.m. As for Cadott, they will take on Mondovi at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
