Baseball Recap: Saint Mary's Takes a Loss

Saint Mary was the 8-0 winner over Pinole Valley when they last played one another back in May of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Panthers fell 4-1 to the Spartans on Wednesday. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Saint Mary's saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Damien Nolan, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Jayson Webb also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Saint Mary's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Pinole Valley, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-8-1.

While Saint Mary's had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
