Basketball Recap: Booker T. Washington Takes a Loss

Booker T. Washington was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 19th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were dealt a 51-20 loss at the hands of the Norview Pilots. While losing is never fun, the Mighty Bookers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 323rd, while the Pilots are ranked 22nd).

Keon Mitchell was his usual excellent self, going 5-for-9 to rack up 12 points and four steals for Norview. The dominant performance also gave Mitchell a new career-high in field goal percentage (56%). Another player making a difference was Marquise Jones Jr, who posted eight points and four steals.

Booker T. Washington's defeat dropped their record down to 0-17. As for Norview, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 15-5.

Booker T. Washington wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 68-32 loss against Granby on the 14th. As for Norview, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 67-64 victory against Churchland on the 14th.
