Soccer Game Preview: Johnston vs. Hope

The Johnston Panthers will head out to face off against the Hope Blue Wave at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Johnston is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Rhode Island's top teams: Burrillville, who was ranked tenth at the time (Johnston was ranked 21st). The Panthers took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Broncos on Friday.

Johnston's goal came courtesy of Steven Vera Vaca, who's now up to 13 this season.

Meanwhile, Hope was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against Lincoln, falling 3-0. The matchup was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but Hope couldn't quite close it out.

Hope's loss dropped their record down to 4-10-3. As for Johnston, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-5-2.
